摘要: Abstract Surface membrane biosynthesis and turnover is reviewed focusing mainly on the fate of cell surface constituents after they terminated their sojourn as part a functional structure. The different experimental approaches to study this problem are described original data presented chicken embryo cells in culture. It proposed that consequence turnover, certain macromolecules continuously shed from cells. size charge these molecules was found be identical released by mild trypsin treatment. term shedding for process which assumed occur both vitro vivo . Many systems clearly demonstrated or can tentatively suggested described. biological significance carbohydrate containing possible role cellular entities discussed.
