摘要: The Wistar Audiogenic Rat (WAR) and the Genetic Seizure Hamster from Salamanca (GASH/Sal) strains are audiogenic epilepsy models, in which seizures triggered by acoustic stimulation. These were developed selective reproduction have a genetic background with minimal or no variation. In current study, we evaluated transcriptome of inferior colliculus, epileptogenic nucleus, both order to get insights into common molecular aspects associated their epileptic phenotype. Based on GASH/Sal RNA-Seq WAR microarray data, performed comparative analysis that includes selection functional annotation differentially regulated genes each model, transcriptional evaluation quantitative reverse transcription PCR identified transcriptomes immunohistochemistry. data revealed 71 differential expression WAR, 64 GASH/Sal, showing models. Analysis transcripts showed Egr3 was overexpressed after seizures. Npy, Rgs2, Ttr, Abcb1a presented same profile being naive stimulated relation controls. Npy appeared only compared its control, while Rgs2 Ttr seizure. No statistical difference observed model. Compared control animals, immunohistochemical colliculus an increased immunoreactivity for NPY, RGS2, TTR Our suggest timing gene seizure, seems respond more quickly. under free-seizure conditions models indicates intrinsic already established strains. findings these may be causing small changes different biological processes involved seizure occurrence response, indirectly contributing susceptibility
