摘要: Abstract The distribution, ecology and secondary metabolism of five species Rutaceae (subfamily Toddalioideae), Araliopsis soyauxii, Diphasia angolensis, Oricia suaveolens, Teclea verdoorniana, Vepris heterophylla, occurring within the central part West African Forest Zone is reviewed. It demonstrated that exhibit niche separation in such a way no two with similar complements metabolites appear to be direct competition. suggested, support Janzen's hypothesis, this situation may have evolved alleviate pest pressure. chemical variation between Ghanaian Nigerian populations O. suaveolens discussed light observations on their ecology. Possible phylogenetic relationships these are discussed.
