摘要: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and hypertension are two phenomena deeply linked together and, although a causal relationship has been suggested, recent meta-analysis showed only very modest effect of OSA treatment on blood pressure (BP). However, vast number randomized controlled trials published so far share some limitations, mainly methodological nature: neither nor BP is always assessed in standardized way. Moreover, compliance with often sub-optimal making the results these difficult to interpret. Recent studies have shown that antihypertensive drugs can reduce more than treatment, showing better profile few side effects. Considering importance reducing overall cardiovascular risk patients, careful management patient’s medication could allow control also this condition. In addition, greater efforts should be made improve acceptance aim improving their compliance.
