摘要: The hypotheses that the antioxidant vitamin E provides protection against lung cancer and this hypothetical is modified by smoking status were investigated using two different study designs--a cohort a nested case-control study--among Finnish men aged 15 years over. In association between intake risk was studied among 5,254 individuals with 121 cases occurred during 19-year follow-up, in serum level 144 270 matched controls as basis. There significant inverse occurrence nonsmokers but not smokers both designs. relative of lowest highest tertiles 3.3 0.8 smokers. corresponding results for 6.6 0.8, respectively. Nonsmokers simultaneously low levels other micronutrients (i.e., beta-carotene, retinol selenium) had 12-fold greater comparison having more satisfactory levels. number three. suggest primarily associated nonsmokers. Firm conclusions can, however, be drawn only on basis intervention trials.
