摘要: Passage of current for brief periods through electrodes in the lateral hypothalamus virtually always resulted a distinctive biphasic hyperglycaemia case capable eliciting feeding at similar intensities. The hyperglycaemic response was sometimes elicited by aimed area but not feeding. remained under pentobarbital anaesthesia. Electrodes other regions gave monophasic or hypoglycaemia no blood glucose change. phases were diminished an adrenergic alpha-receptor blocking agent and bilateral adrenal demedullation. intermediate lowering concentration could be eliminated injection atropine sub-diaphragmatic vagotomy. It is therefore possible that hypothalamic system directly connected to autonomic systems influencing endocrine regulation metabolism.
