Combining AHP with GIS in synthetic evaluation of environmental suitability for living in China's 35 major cities

摘要: There are nearly 700 cities in China, each with their own particular characteristics of natural environment quality and rates economic development. When people able to choose a city live in, they will take into account these order improve lifestyles. Based on geographic information system technology the analytic hierarchy process method, model living suitability index LESI for larger China was designed. The constructed by using factors condition, convenience livable degree, resources. then applied compare conditions 35 major 2007, including 30 provincial capitals 5 sub-provincial cities. values were higher southeast than northwest. highest mainly distributed along Chinese coast Yangtze River Delta. Cities lowest found centre north China. Of cities, 4 had highly suitable environments 7 unsuitable environments.
