摘要: Eighty-five female depressed patients were treated for 4 weeks with amitriptyline in a flexible dose (median, 150 mg daily). Predictive analyses of outcome carried out, using both typological and regressional models based on the same 29 predictor variables. The prediction utilized previously described four-group typology derived by multivariate cluster analysis comprising psychotic depressives, anxious hostile young depressives personality disorder. Patients assigned to groups discriminant functions basis scores four found predict significantly. Psychotic initially most severely depressed, improved most; little less ill initially, showed least improvement residual illness at weeks; disorders, ill, intermediate small margin, weeks. variables also predicted significantly linear multiple regression analyses. Five weights different from zero: high initial severity but more illness; insomnia, previous depressions, longer illness, hypochondriasis all low illness. Predictions compared, their interrelationships examined. accounted variance measures than did typology, statistical significances predictions order. Two appeared particularly important—high which characterized depresives increased number depressions depressives. Typological was not solely due these two model sicne it remained significant when measure adjusted covariance. Both provide useful approaches prediction, only limited overlap. approach, has been relatively neglected recent years, warents frequent application as an alternative regression.
