摘要: Abstract We analysed the valence band and 3d 4d core levels of LaH x ( = 0, 2.2, 2.9) CeH 2.1, using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. A hydrogen-induced around 5 eV is observed in all hydrides. The density states at E F considerably reduced dihydrides vanishes completely trihydrides agreement with transition from metallic to non-metallic behaviour. cerium 4f level appears 2 separated for both character occupancy almost conserved hydrides as confirmed by measurements magnetic susceptibility. are shifted 1.3 (LaH 2.2 ), 2.9 1.9 (CeH 2.1 ) exhibit intense satellites on low binding energy side.
