摘要: Abstract Fragmentation of the world's most intact forest landscapes will likely increase severity Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC). The way these threats affect top predators involves a series complex social and ecological relationships, which are not completely understood, thus require socio-ecological studies. aim this study is to examine factors that tolerance local people towards endangered Black-and-chestnut Eagle (Spizaetus isidori) in rural villages eastern Andes Colombia. We conducted 172 interviews 20 estimated proportion cover (i.e. amount remaining native forest), human density, yearly losses domestic fowl by Eagle, socio-demographic parameters economic activity, ownership, age, education, gender). likelihood villagers being tolerant decreased when cover, density were higher. integration information allowed us identify key areas with increasing HWC. Our findings consonance recent evidence indicating declines predator populations, as well other vertebrate biodiversity, can be severely affected exacerbation HWC on border habitat deforested areas.
