摘要: Objective: GH deficiency (GHD) in adults is associated with adverse effects on metabolism and increased cardiovascular risk. Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) a protease that promotes IGF-I availability vascular tissues. PAPP-A levels appear to correlate carotid intima-media thickness have been proposed as an early predictor of cardiac events. The aim our study was evaluate GHD at baseline after replacement them changes body composition, lipid profile, glucose homeostasis, inflammatory markers leptin adiponectin. Patients methods: Fourteen were evaluated 1 year therapy. All patients compared 28 age-, sex- mass index (BMI)-matched control subjects. Results: At baseline, showed higher (PZ0.03) (PZ0.04), fibrinogen (PZ0.002) highly sensitive C-reactive protein (PZ0.01) values than controls. Therapy reduced while BMI waist-hip ratio (WHR; PZ0.05) observed. Insulin homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance treatment (P!0.004/PZ0.007), without or adiponectin levels. correlated positively WHR negatively before treatment, no correlation parameters, profile leptin. Conclusions: Our suggests expression adults, therapy able reduce this population. However, further studies are required determine whether decrease correlates improvement atherosclerosis.
