摘要: Abstract Rat myotubes infected with polyoma virus (PV) introduced into the multinucleated cells by virus-bearing myoblasts at time of cell fusion incorporate 3H-TdR and exhibit mitotic-type figures. The also produce a viral-specific nuclear antigen, tumor (T) which appears in groups adjacent nuclei or all myotubes. proportion synthesize DNA, T-antigen figures is related to multiplicity infection. Intact are resistant infection PV absorption can be microinjection cells. Myotubes thus multiple nuclei, but do not contain data suggest that resistance might due change surface membrane during differentiation so cannot penetrate cell. apparently has no bearing on activation DNA-synthesizing apparatus muscle
