Thermal footprint effect of rooftop urban cooling strategies

摘要: Abstract Simulation results indicate that urban morphology plays an important role in determining the efficacy of rooftop cooling strategies for improving pedestrian thermal comfort. Results suggest a white roof has greatest effect on near-surface air temperatures within canyon when used buildings 1–2 stories height and almost no applied to 4 story buildings. However, is more substantial complex introduces enhanced vertical mixing. Of cases studied largest benefit implementing roofs was found case taller building existed downwind from with roof. Using Thermal Footprint Ratio it by placing tall behind otherwise uniform array 2 buildings, cool would be twice as effective at reducing level. Calculations volumetric heat removal confirmed this result, indicating positioning modified 2.6 times level volume compared where all were height.
