摘要: Propionibacterium species are mostly environmental bacteria, some being commensal of mammals including humans, and sometimes pathogenic. These bacteria poorly identified using routine laboratory methods. Recently, Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) has emerged as a rapid efficient method to identify bacterial species. We evaluated the use MALDI-TOF-MS for identification all validated Only four 15 tested reference strains (26.7%) were correctly at level, P. acnes, most common human pathogenic was not identified. When applying 48 acnes strains, only 18.7% identified, suggesting an intraspecific variability proteic profiles among strains. However, by enriching Bruker database with spectra from five these re-testing other 43 against this new database, 93.0% Our study demonstrates that may be used isolates but requires enrichment in additional isolates.
