Turbulent anomalous transport and anisotropic electron heating in a return current system

摘要: Anisotropic electron heating due to self-generated electromagnetic turbulences is observed in collisionless return current plasmas. The corresponding energy conversion, heating, and associated anomalous momentum transport are investigated by means of a two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulation code. model consists two counterstreaming beams with different temperatures stationary ion background. First, general multifluid dispersion analyzer presented clear matrix form that allows study streaming instabilities. numerical confirms the predicted electrostatic electron-electron acoustic instability. Generating waves, system evolves into nonlinear stage. As result, drifts slowed down turbulence-induced exchange. Localized electric magnetic field fluctuations play major roles conversion.
