摘要: Background/objective We assessed the metabolic and heart rate (HR) responses to a single session of circuit resistance training (CRT) in six subjects with complete paraplegia (T5-T12 levels) order determine caloric cost exercise. Methods Subjects underwent isoinertial weight exercises interspersed periods high-cadence, low-resistance arm ergometry (AE). Following protocol familiarization, completed one CRT during which continuous monitoring HR, oxygen uptake (VO2), respiratory exchange ratio (RER = VCO2/VO2) was performed. Caloric calculated from exercise VO2 values across session. A peak test allowed data be expressed as percentages HR. Results displayed mean 11.6 +/- 2.4 ml/kg/min (mean SD) HR 136 17 beats/min session, corresponding 49.0% 76.8% The RER ranged 0.96 1.19 averaged above unity throughout Conclusion Despite modest absolute exercise, satisfies operational criteria developed for cardiorespiratory prescriptions persons without disability. recorded indicate that is intense work relies primarily on glycolytic metabolism.
