Pre-clinical research in small animals using radiotherapy technology – a bidirectional translational approach

摘要: For translational cancer research, pre-clinical in-vivo studies using small animals have become indispensable in bridging the gap between in-vitro cell experiments and clinical implementation. When setting up such animal experiments, various biological, technical methodical aspects to be considered. In this work we present a comprehensive topical review based on relevant publications irradiation techniques used for research mice rats. Clinical radiotherapy treatment devices application of external beam brachytherapy as well dedicated are feasible depending model experimental goals. work, appropriate solutions technological transfer human radiation oncology summarised. Additionally, important information concerning design is provided that reliable clinically results can attained.
