摘要: SUMMARY Thirty-nine strains of Salmonella typhi, isolated in 1995 from four Districts Pakistan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Kharian and Jehlem, were catalogued examined. Chromosomal DNA each isolate was digested with XbaI restriction endonuclease subjected to pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. Three clonal variants comprising 17‐19 fragments identified. Antibiotic susceptibility testing identified that 37 the S. typhi resistant chloramphenicol, trimethoprim ampicillin. These antibiotic resistance genes found be located on one plasmids belonging incompatibility group IncHI1 ranging size 150‐175 Kb. The responsible for this case chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) type I, dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) VII b-lactamase TEM-1 respectively.
