摘要: Abstract The elastic and inelastic scattering of 18 O ions at 120 MeV from a target 208 Pb have been studied. Cross sections for excitation the 2 + state 1.982 in 3 − 2.61 were measured. In addition, populations m -substates deduced Doppler-broadened line shapes. data subjected to coupled-channels analysis using either Woods-Saxon or folding-model potentials. was found be described very well by use semi-microscopic model. analyses consistently indicated presence positive static hexadecapole moment several e · fm 4 O. -substate population distributions better fitted if vector spin-orbit coupling introduced with sign opposite that nucleon-nucleus case.
