摘要: BACKGROUND: To assess the results and complications of temporary silicone oil tamponade in treatment complicated retinal detachments. METHODS: Fifty-eight consecutive eyes undergoing removal were studied a retrospective fashion. Forty-two with proliferative vitreoretinopathy, nine giant tears, seven traumatized included. In addition to anatomic visual results, following their associated preoperative intraoperative variables assessed: glaucoma, hypotony, keratopathy. RESULTS: Anatomic success was achieved 81% eyes. Postoperative glaucoma found 12%, hypotony 9%, keratopathy 7% Twenty-six (45%) 58 had an increase acuity at least two Snellen lines after removal. After multivariate logistic regression analysis for all versus successively, total three or more operations (P < 0.05; odds ratio, 14.7) absence encircling band 29.9) redetachment, retinectomy size than 180 degrees hypotonia 67.5). CONCLUSIONS: Temporary may be lower incidence recent studies have reported. Despite acceptable risk recurrent detachment, early yield rate anterior segment approximately half
