摘要: Background Patients with atrial fibrillation are at increased risk for thromboembolic stroke originating predominantly in the left appendage. To reduce risk, standard of care is anticoagulation. In addition, several devices exclusion appendage have been developed. Methods PubMed was searched articles relevant to management. The resulting were reviewed as their bibliographies. Relevant journals manually sources. Results Devices being used by percutaneous and surgical approaches. Their indications, limitations, outcomes reviewed. Conclusions Excision safe effective medical management prevention. The choice treatment should be made based on patients' anatomy, history, preference informed by an appropriate team.
