摘要: Abstract Recent epidemiological evidence support the hypothesis that health effects from inhalation of air particles are governed by more than just particle mass, since specific chemical components have been identified as important contributors to mortality and hospitality admissions. We studied composition oxidative potential (OP) total suspended (TSP) samples Milan at two sites with different traffic loads: a site in low emission zone (LEZ) (TR) outside. Two a-cellular assays; dithiothreitol (OPDTT) 2′,7' dichlorofluorescin (OPDCFH) were used characterize OP soluble fraction particles. TSP LEZ showed significantly lower concentrations traffic-related compared TR. The decrease TR was maximum for EC, LEZ/TR ratio 0.64 (±0.18), significant reduction (p  measures, expressed OP/m3 or OP/mg, comparable between both OPDTT OPDCFH, thus not showing any impact local on values sites.
