摘要: Fagus (beech) is among the most abundant and economically important genera of broad-leaved trees in northern hemisphere temperate forests. The number modern taxa present Europe Asia Minor has long been a matter debate up to five species have recognised. To resolve taxonomic phylogenetic relationships we conducted morphological molecular genetic analyses western Eurasiatic evaluated palaeontological evidence. place our findings from populations broader context additional East Asiatic North American same subgenus as well two Engleriana were included study.
