摘要: A hallmark of sera from patients with systemic rheumatic diseases is the presence circulating autoantibodies directed against nuclear antigens. The identification antigens binding to these antibodies has provided cell biologist and immunologist important tools study structure, function, processes underlying immune response. Through elucidation autoantibody specificities, clinician been a better appreciation diagnostic prognostic significance autoantibodies. Many autoantigens, including those components in matrix, chromosomes, Golgi apparatus, other intracellular antigens, are not yet characterized nor their clinical established. mechanisms leading breakdown tolerance appearance fully understood. Molecular mimicry at an interspecies or level may be involved altering tolerance. On hand, studies epitopes on human autoantigens compelling evidence that most responses seen driven by endogenous antigen. Images
