Follow-up phone calls increase nutrient intake estimated by three-day food diaries in 13-year-old participants of the Raine study

摘要: Aim:  Our primary objective was to determine the effect of follow-up phone calls on estimated nutrient intakes obtained by three-day food diaries from 13-year-old adolescents. Methods:  Food were recorded using household measures and entered into a dietary analysis software program, before after follow up telephone. A sample 340 participants aged 13 years born Western Australian Pregnancy Cohort (Raine) Study, population-based longitudinal cohort followed 16 20 weeks' gestation age (current up). After face-to-face instruction, completed at home returned them post. Follow-up telephone made each participant improve data collection response verify missing details in diaries. Nutrient compared Student's t-tests spss. Results also with those Child Adolescent Physical Activity Nutrition survey. Results:  significantly increased intake total kilojoules, water, carbohydrates, sugars magnesium (P < 0.05). Conclusion:  These results indicate importance obtain adolescents.
