摘要: Abstract We studied the effect of ketotifen, an oral antiallergic and antihistaminic drug, on airway cutaneous responses to platelet-activating factor (PAF) in a double-blind, randomized, crossover study six normal subjects. Ketotifen (three doses 2 mg taken during 14-hour period before PAF) did not alter PAF-induced bronchoconstriction prevent accompanying flushing coughing. The transient neutropenia (74.5 ± 4.8% fall; p 40 ), decreasing from 69.2 mg/ml (geometric standard error mean, 2.69) 23.3 (2.34) day 3 ( also decreased 52.7 (2.5) 21.5 (2.14) ; = 0.02) induced by intradermal PAF (200 ng). Cutaneous histamine (1 μg) were significantly inhibited. Thus, bronchial hyperresponsiveness are inhibited ketotifen. inhibits wheal flare skin, which is probably dependent. effects unlikely be mediated release.
