The ral gene: a new ras related gene isolated by the use of a synthetic probe.

摘要: Abstract We synthesized a set of 20-mer oligonucleotides corresponding to sequence seven amino acids strictly conserved in all the different ras proteins, from yeast man, as well rho and YPT, two proteins distantly related p21 (approximately 30% acid homology). This oligonucleotide probe was used search for new members family. We describe here gene named ral, isolated cDNA library immortalized simian B-lymphocytes. The ral codes 206 protein expected mol. wt 23.5 kd that shares greater than 50% homology with H-ras, K-ras or N-ras. GTP binding regions C-terminal cysteine involved membrane anchoring are also present ral; this strongly suggests is localization. Furthermore, several external presumably interaction effector, receptor and/or regulatory highly homologous ral. Therefore some interact might be identical closely those interacting ras.
