Yeast as a model for medical and medicinal research

摘要: In the past, studies using yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae enabled major breakthroughs in understanding of basic cellular and molecular processes. Today, use is undergoing a "rebirth" both fundamental applied research. Indeed, advances technology have paved way for variety new genome-wide screening approaches. Experimental strategies aim to unravel disease-related events discover novel medicinal compounds. this article, impact as an experimental tool summarized high-throughput screenings pharmacological purposes evaluated. The recently promising approach so-called humanized systems also discussed.
