Domestic violence against elderly women.

摘要: Abstract OBJECTIVE: To describe the experiences of four elderly abused women to better understand influence violence on their lives and implications for intervention by family physicians. DESIGN: Qualitative case presentations who participated in a hospital-based domestic program. SETTING: The Domestic Violence Program Vancouver Hospital Health Sciences Centre, an program based emergency department. PARTICIPANTS: Four English-speaking working-class ranging from 63 73 years age had experienced battering male partners volunteered after expressing interest follow-up service Program. METHOD: analysis oral narratives participants. FINDINGS: Eleven themes emerging women's were identified illustrated with verbatim quotations: marriage license as hitting license, origin, powerlessness, treated objects, survival, barriers leaving, memories linked children's ages, community support, turning points, integrating processing abuse, witnessing helping other women. CONCLUSIONS: abuse these endured greatly influenced health.
