摘要: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) proteins were detected by immunohistochemistry in the duodenal and rectal mucosa of 30% 127 AIDS patients studied. HIV-infected cells present lamina propria 95% positive biopsies. They immune cells, either isolated lymphocytes macrophages (1-4 per biopsy) or dendritic reticulum forming a network germinal centres mucosal lymphoid follicles. HIV not found epithelium superficial epithelium. In two cases (5% biopsies), they glands: could be epithelial cells. This study confirms that gut can target organ for is mainly carried The phenotypic populations showed an inverse CD4/CD8 ratio propria, compared with normal controls. was independent presence probably responsible appearance opportunistic infections mucosa. An increase activated also noted patients.
