摘要: Abstract An attempt has been made to suggest a mechanism capable of driving the pre-corneal tear film toward upper lid after blink. First, in vivo experiments were performed on human subjects gain quantitative information motion film. Motion pictures taken naturally occurring particles film, and their trajectories, blinking, recorded. It is postulated that this driven by surface tension gradients, caused non-uniformities concentration active material found at surface. Parameters needed characterize ‘surface gradient mechanism’ are independently estimated from chemistry literature. A small displacement approximation governing hydrodynamic equations carried second order. Comparison solution with experimental data indicates likely candidate for flow.
