摘要: SUMMARY Neurod1 is a transcription factor involved in several developmental programs of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, neurosensory, and central nervous system. In brain, Neurod1 has been shown to be essential for neurogenesis as well migration, maturation, survival newborn neurons during development adulthood. Interestingly, expression maintained subset fully mature where its function remains unclear. To study role Neurod1, systems are required that allow temporal spatial genetic manipulation Neurod1-expressing cells. this aim, we have generated four Neurod1-CreERT2 mouse lines which CreERT2 expression, although at different levels, restricted within areas physiological positive particular, levels offers opportunity select one more suited given experimental approach. Hence, our provide valuable new tools adulthood studying subpopulation retain throughout life. context, here report not only expressed immature adult hippocampus, already described, but also granule cells dentate gyrus. genesis 52:870–878, 2014. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
