摘要: Abstract The removal characteristics of dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) with a fibrous peat biofilter were studied. itself did not remove DMDS. inoculated aerobically-digested night soil sludge as source microorganisms showed an efficient DMDS the maximum rate, 0.68 g-S·kg-dry peat−1·d−1 and saturation constant, 1 ppm. rate by decreased when pH was below 5.5. number isolated on thiosulfate-agar plates (pH 7) remarkably increased in DMDS-acclimated peat. Similar change microflora observed methanethiol (MT)- sulfide (DMS)-acclimated These results indicated that some chemolithotrophic non-acidophilic sulfur-oxidizing such Thiobacilli, originating from sludge, responsible for degradation these organosulfur compounds biofilter.
