摘要: Solanum melongena L. commonly known as the eggplant or brinjal comes from family of Solanaceae, sharing same ancestor with tomato and potato. It is an economically important crop worldwide, being well studied for its medicinal properties, nutritional values role alternative model plant. The fruit has been previously used treatments various diseases such bronchitis, asthma, arthritis diabetes nutritive properties that are beneficial to human diet. Plant transformation studies on have widely done production transgenic eggplants harbouring genes optimal plant growth production. Shoot induction essential step required successful regeneration transformed tissues therefore pre-requisite in Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. local cv. Bulat Putih a cultivar Malaysia white round fruits making it potential colour pigment accumulation crops. current work aims investigate shoot 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) Kinetin cotyledon explants Putih. Results indicated both BAP were able induce callus explants. On other hand, at concentration 2.0 mg/L successfully induced shoots value 1.50 ± 0.22 per explant, whereas alone did not trigger any formation shoots. This study kinetin sufficient without presence BAP.
