摘要: The oxidation of copper catalysts during ethylene epoxidation was characterized using in situ photoemission spectroscopy and electron microscopy. Gas chromatography, proton-transfer reaction mass spectrometry electron-ionization were used to characterize the catalytic properties oxidized copper. We find that corrodes a 1 : 1 mixture oxygen ethylene. catalyst corrosion passes through several stages, beginning with formation an O-terminated surface, followed by Cu2O scale eventually CuO scale. exhibits measurable activity for epoxidation, but low selectivity 8/2500) forms covers surface.
