摘要: A synthetic thymus-independent (TI) antigen, dinitrophenyl-'Ficoll', was used to immunise controls, untreated patients with Hodgkin's disease (HD), and who had splenectomy (most for staging in HD). The antibody response DNP-ficoll much lower splenectomised than the other groups titres 7, 14, 21 days after immunisation of were approximately a tenth groups. In contrast been primed before responded normally re-immunisation 6-28 months splenectomy. These results suggest that upon first exposure certain TI antigens occurs mainly spleen. Antibody responses are not generally impaired immunised pneumococcal or bacterial polysaccharides, probably because natural priming by these widespread. However, such must be vulnerable overwhelming infection encapsulated bacteria met
