摘要: The basic performance limits of distributed-control local-area networks (LANs) are discussed, and some important research problems pointed out. Two obstacles discussed are: available transmitter power, the medium-access strategy. These two limitations, especially latter, can restrict network throughput to values far below simple fiber capacity. >
