摘要: Colorectal stent insertion is an invasive endoscopic procedure. However, there are no reports regarding the incidence of bacteremia with colorectal stent. This study was to evaluate risk and infectious complications after for obstruction. Patients who underwent were enrolled consecutively. Blood cultures obtained before at 30 min monitored 48 h detect development complications. Procedural data collected included location obstruction, degree bowel preparation, obstructive symptoms, time required Of 64 patients undergoing stent, four (6.3%) had a positive post-stent blood culture. All patients, including those cultures, remained asymptomatic during Site age, underlying disease not different between two groups. Development associated long procedure (p < 0.05). does induce significant in These findings suggest that routine use prophylactic antibiotics may be necessary insertion.
