Study of the Lifetimes of Individual Vibronic States of the Isolated Benzene Molecule

摘要: In this paper we report measurements of the lifetimes 22 vibronic states benzene and relative quantum yields fluorescence for transitions originating from these states. The measurements, which are all made in free molecule limit, used to test theory radiationless processes. It is found that available provides a moderately good description observations. Our principal observation nonradiative lifetime prepared state decreases with increasing excitation over origin such way decrement per vibrational energy approximately constant. progressions low frequency out‐of‐plane modes unit more than do excitations in, say, totally symmetric mode. We also discuss pressure dependence its relationship molecular properties.
