摘要: The influence of operating conditions (temperature, HCl catalyst concentration and time) on the percentage xylose solubilized in acid-catalysed delignification Eucalyptus globulus wood by acetic acid was studied using an incomplete 3 × factorial design. Regression analysis afforded equation satisfactorily correlating experimental results. A kinetic model polysaccharide hydrolysis is proposed which involves two parallel first order reactions: one fast hemicellulose other slower cellulose. Under mild (i.e. at low temperatures concentrations) only reaction occurs, leaving cellulosic fraction as unhydrolysed residue.
