摘要: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) MMP-2 and MMP-9 can degrade type IV collagen of extracellular matrix basal membranes. Claudin-4 is a member large family transmembrane proteins, claudins, essential in the formation maintenance tight junctions. has been shown to activate MMP-2, indicating that claudin-mediated increased cancer cell invasion might be mediated through activation MMP proteins. To explore roles claudin-4 gastric cancer, we selected 88 cases then analyzed expression these proteins using immunohistochemistry. We found all expressions were significantly higher intestinal-type than diffuse-type cancer. On further analysis, testing relationship between with expression, was associated but not expression. The results showed may phenotypic features, distinguishing Possibly, played role determining activity which favored distal metastasis.
