摘要: Monoallelic expression of several genes has been observed in mice which transcripts from parental homologues are distinguishable, but this phenomenon not demonstrated humans. One monoallelically expressed murine gene, H19, encodes an abundant fetal RNA. We have found restriction site polymorphisms the human H19 located on chromosome 11p15, and examined representation these cDNAs organs. Expression is largely or exclusively a single allele; similar analysis WT1 11p13, shows biallelic expression. In context previous studies 11p15 allelic losses embryonal tumours, our findings support possibility single-step inactivation growth-regulating oncogenesis.
