摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the oncogenic properties of middle T antigens polyomaviruses. Oncogenic viruses provide reagents that are capable transforming cells in a relatively small number defined molecular events. Among viruses, murine polyomavirus is outstanding its ability to cause transformation broad spectrum cell types entirety called “polyomavirus tumor constellation.” Two polyomaviruses have been isolated from their respective hosts, mice, and hamsters. Both display very similar genomic organization consisting circular genome; strands encoding early late gene products transcribed opposite directions noncoding region functions as replication origin well transcriptional control region. Polyomaviruses share this general structure with other papovaviruses. The summarizes biochemical PymT antigen consequences expression vivo. Expression hamster vivo discussed analysis PymT-transformed endothelial provided.
