摘要: We introduce a novel electropneumatic-heated nebulizer (EPn-HN), incorporating an electrified internal pneumatic nebulizer, to enhance the yield of sprayed ions from PhotoSpray™ atmospheric pressure photoionization (APPI) sources for liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). Spray ionization pneumatic-heated nebulizers used in APPI provides supplemental, complementary method be involatile and thermally labile compounds, otherwise intractable APPI. Details construction operation EPn-HN device are provided. The performance is demonstrated using two model compounds: substance P, peptide as standard studies ion fragmentation mechanisms, aztreonam, antibiotic. At optimum voltage spray ionization, improvements sensitivity orders magnitude obtained relative when sprayer grounded, conventional case. Since both P aztreonam cannot detected alone, results demonstrate how may extend range compounds amenable PhotoSpray sources. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
