摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the high-resolution crystal structures of bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers. Photosynthetic Reaction Centers (RCs) are membrane-spanning complexes polypeptide chains and cofactors that catalyze first steps in conversion light energy to chemical during photosynthesis. Absorption a photon RC, or transfer from light-harvesting causes rapid, efficient electron primary donor along chain acceptors leading across membrane. In all types RCs, has been shown, is assumed be, closely associated pair chlorophyll molecules. The nature acceptor molecule at end within RCs depends on type RC: purple bacteria; photosystem II green plants cyanobacteria, it quinone converted quinol by two successive events protonation.
