Inhibition of the development of myringosclerosis by local administration of fenspiride, an anti-inflammatory drug

摘要: Earlier studies have revealed a relationship between the development of myringosclerosis and oxygen-derived free radicals. The latter can be blocked by anti-inflammatory drug fenspiride. present study was undertaken to test ability fenspiride prevent from developing during healing tympanic membrane. Myringotomized rats were treated with either topical applications or intraperitoneal injections for 12 days, after which membranes examined otomicroscopy studied histologically light microscopy. Topically applied found inhibit sclerotic lesions, whereas ineffective.
