Transferrin receptor expression in tumours of the human nervous system: relation to tumour type, grading and tumour growth fraction

摘要: The expression of transferrin receptor (Tr) was investigated by means immunohistochemistry in 101 tumours the human central and peripheral nervous system. results were compared with proliferative activity tumours, determined immunostaining for proliferation-associated antigen Ki-67. In addition to normal proliferated blood vessel endothelium a fraction tumour infiltrating lymphocytes, we observed staining Tr variable neoplastic cells all histological types. Immunoreactivity majority found only anaplastic such as glioblastomas. Furthermore, positive correlation between Ki-67 growth established gliomas. Non-glial strongly expressing included one metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma, intracerebral malignant lymphoma, two four plasmocytomas seven nine carcinomas. Our indicate that can provide additional information about biological behaviour system thus complementing conventional histopathological criteria anaplasia.
