摘要: Osteoarthritis is a disease which characterized by joint pain, swelling and stiffness. Articular cartilage has limited self-repair capacity due to its avascular aneural nature. In this work, we show the use of gold nanoparticles (AuNps) for enhancing delivery chondroitin sulfate (CS), drug used in treatment osteoarthritis (OA). AuNps were synthesized transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray diffraction analysis. combined with CS (AuNps-CS) their effect on primary goat chondrocytes was studied using MTT assay, Hoechst staining, production glycosaminoglycan collagen. Cell viability studies revealed that AuNps-CS stimulate cell proliferation. A two-fold increase GAG collagen observed presence combination as compared native CS, indicating stimulates chondrocyte proliferation enhances extracellular matrix (ECM). Hence, study exhibits potential carrier osteoarthritis. © 2015 American Institute Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. Prog., 31:1416–1422,
