摘要: Abstract The present study was intended to demonstrate the origin of supra-ependymal 5-hydroxytryptamine axons in rat forebrain. Electrolytic lesions and injections 5,6-dihydroxytryptamine (10 ωg 4 ωl) were carried out unilaterally close medial forebrain bundle posterior hypothalamus rats. Ten 14 days later, terminal formaldehyde-induced indolealkylamine fluorescence had virtually disappeared supra-ependymally lateral ventricles interventricular foramina ipsilateral lesion if passing through part been destroyed. No changes observed, electron microscopically or histochemically, contralateral lesion. It is concluded that serotonergic nerve terminals originate, uncrossed, from non-terminal hypothalamus.
