摘要: The diversity and biological activities of fungi associated with the two sponges, Haliclona simulans Gelliodes carnosa, were investigated using a culture-dependent method followed by analysis fungal rDNA-ITS sequences. sponges collected from coastal waters Lingshui Bay Hainan Island in South China Sea. A total 37 independent isolates corresponding to 30 different species obtained sponges. Nearly thirds strains (n = 24, 64.9%) had close affiliations (identity (ID) or similarity ≥ 98%) their best matches GenBank. Another one third 13, 35.1%) distantly related closest relatives (ID < 98%), implying that these are possibly those previously reported. possessed similar diversities. harbored mainly consortium as compared same sponge Irish waters, suggesting is more dependent on surrounding environment than species. Biological culture extracts tested against human tumor cell lines, mainly, lung carcinoma line (A-549), liver (Bel-7402), colon (HCT-8), Gram positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis. relatively high proportion results this study, demonstrating isolated could be rich source new biologically active natural products.
